Recovery Solutions Counselling offers group programs, which can be tailored to meet your needs by request. Thoughts Feelings Actions Program (8-12yrs)
This small group program Thoughts, Feelings, Actions can help children aged 8-12 expand their toolbox of skills and strategies to aid with building awareness of their emotions, internal state and overall wellness whilst increasing their regulation ability.
Your child will learn skills, expanding their toolbox of strategies to assist with regulation. They will learn to respect their unique self, whilst building on social skills in group settings.
Whilst increasing self-awareness, this program focuses on calming techniques where skills are taught and actively practiced during each session. The program will then progress onto expanding problem solving skills and building your child’s capacity.

Be Brave Program (4-6yrs)
This small group program Be Brave explores anxiety through a child-friendly lens. The program increases awareness of how anxiety is a normal response but for many, the symptoms can interfere with daily life.
With the proper support, your child will be empowered to develop resilience and courage to understand and manage their anxiety. We’ll be diving into the signs of anxiety, where they come from, and why – showing a range of practical interventions to assist in responding effectively and building their capacity to calm big feelings and move towards brave behaviour.

Taking Action Program (6-12yrs)
Anxiety and fear can be considered a part of normal human development and is adaptive in some circumstances, however fear and anxiety can become intense, affecting a child’s functioning and psychosocial development.
This small group program Taking Action, can help children aged 6-12 challenge their maladaptive thinking styles associated with anxiety and teach ways of coping with and managing anxiety, whilst encouraging them to take action against their anxiety. Children will approach their fears and worries using the well-researched and effective strategies learnt during the program.

Teen Talk For Parents Program
This workshop Teen Talk For Parents, provides easy-to-use techniques to teach to parents and carers skills that they can use to enlist adolescents to manage their own teenager behaviour problems and emotional reactions. They will learn to build a relationship with their teenager and strategies to deal with unacceptable behaviour.
Parents will walk away with a renewed sense of confidence about the role they can play in their teenagers’ lives, without conversations morphing into arguments.

LEGO® Based Therapy (All Ages)
Brick Club runs on a term-by-term basis and is for all ages. LEGO® Based Therapy is an evidenced-based, structured, social communication development program. It exploits natural curiosity and motivation within the LEGO® system whilst expanding imagination and adaptability.
There are several benefits to LEGO® Based Therapy, including improved confidence and emotional well-being, improved social communication, and improved concentration. It promotes collaborative problem-solving and critical thinking skills, along with teamwork. Brick Club is a great environment to develop friendships and foster a sense of belonging.

STOP, THINK, ACT Program (9-16yrs)
STOP, THINK, ACT is a small group program designed for children aged 9–16 to build essential social and emotional skills. Over eight weeks, participants develop practical strategies to better understand and regulate their emotions, helping them navigate behavioural, learning and social challenges with increased confidence.
Using structured and engaging activities, the program teaches children to:
- STOP – Recognise and name emotions early, increasing self-awareness.
- THINK – Reflect on different options and consider the outcomes.
- ACT – Choose and apply an appropriate, effective response.
By moving beyond impulsive emotional reactions and focusing on practical problem-solving, children are empowered to respond to everyday challenges with resilience and confidence.
STOP, THINK, ACT Friendship Program (10-16yrs)
- Strengthen self-regulation and impulse control in social settings.
- Improve problem-solving and decision-making during peer interactions.
- Teach effective and respectful responses to conflict and peer pressure.
- Foster positive friendships and reduce social difficulties.
This program helps participants apply the Stop, Think, Act approach specifically to real-life friendship scenarios, supporting confident, constructive and connected social engagement.
The Connection Crew Program (9–14yrs)
- Increase awareness of individual communication, learning and emotional styles.
- Teach practical strategies to recognise and respond to how others think, feel and express themselves.
- Expand emotional vocabulary and strengthen the ability to communicate personal needs.
- Promote flexible thinking, empathy and perspective-taking in social situations.
Skill Shift – Teen DBT Group
Ages: Adolescents
Format: 8-week program
Our Skill Shift program is a supportive Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) group designed specifically for teens. This evidence-based program helps young people build resilience, manage emotions, and strengthen relationships in a safe, encouraging environment.
What teens will learn:
- Mindfulness – staying present and grounded
- Distress Tolerance – coping with crises safely
- Emotion Regulation – managing overwhelming feelings
- Interpersonal Effectiveness – building healthier relationships
DBT has been proven to reduce self-harm, improve emotional balance, and enhance coping strategies. Skill Shift provides practical tools for navigating life’s challenges with confidence.

Loveology – The Science of Respect
Ages: 15–17
Format: Interactive workshop series
Loveology is a fun, interactive program that empowers teens to explore respect, consent, and healthy relationships. Through creative activities, group discussions, and role plays, participants build practical skills for safer and more respectful connections.
What they’ll learn:
- Respectful Relationships – what’s healthy and what’s not
- Consent & Boundaries – learning to speak up and listen
- Challenging Stereotypes – breaking down myths about gender and power
- Safe Choices – preventing violence and knowing where to get help
Program goals:
- Develop real-life skills for friendships and relationships
- Build confidence in setting boundaries
- Increase awareness about safety and respect
- Feel heard in a supportive environment

The Friendship Formula – Building Social Confidence
Ages: 11–16
Format: 8-week program
The Friendship Formula builds on the foundations of our Connection Crew program, offering a next step for children and teens to deepen their social and emotional skills. While it expands on concepts introduced in Connection Crew, it is not compulsory to complete that program first
Led by qualified therapists in a supportive, play-based environment, this group helps young people practise essential friendship skills and build confidence in their social interactions.
What they’ll learn:
- Social Cues – recognising and responding appropriately
- Assertiveness & Boundaries – learning how to stand up for themselves kindly
- Flexible Thinking – developing perspective-taking and problem-solving skills
- Healthy Friendships – understanding what positive, supportive relationships look like
Program goals:
- Build confidence in social interactions
- Strengthen communication and emotional awareness
- Encourage respectful, lasting connections
