EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) is a powerful therapy used for trauma recovery. At Recovery Solutions, our EMDR Intensive Therapy offers a focused, accelerated path to healing. Designed for deep transformation in a shorter time frame, these sessions suit clients ready to take concentrated steps toward recovery. If an intensive format is not right for you, we also offer regular weekly EMDR sessions and can tailor a plan to your needs.
Traditional EMDR sessions may stretch over months. Intensive EMDR condenses the process into a focused format, allowing you to engage deeply, consistently, and with momentum.
An intensive format helps:
Shorten the timeline of healing
Maintain therapeutic momentum and emotional continuity
Reduce disruption from life’s ups and downs
Deepen processing with a safe container
Because you are working intensively, sessions are structured, paced carefully, and supported throughout.
We offer different intensives tailored to your needs: single-session intensives and multi-day intensives.
You commit to a full intensive session (e.g. 4–6 hours) in one go. This is suitable for discrete traumas or focused processing blocks.
Over two or more consecutive days, you engage in structured EMDR sessions, integration, and support periods for more complex or layered trauma.
Before beginning, your clinician will complete a detailed intake and planning session to determine pacing, safety, and structure.
Engaging in an intensive EMDR format can offer multiple advantages:
Quicker shift in emotional reactivity
Sustained processing with fewer external interruptions
Greater internal coherence and continuity
Deep trauma integration
Faster relief from intrusive memories, distress, and triggers
While not suited for everyone, for many clients it offers a more consolidated route to healing.
